At Model Practice, we believe that each project is an opportunity to make the world a better place to live through use of thoughtful and well crafted responses to problems, big and small. CHRISTOPHER LEE / PARTNER

Christopher received his BA in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley (2001) and his MArch from the Yale School of Architecture (2007), where he graduated with the Herman D.J. Spiegel Scholarship. He is a LEED accredited professional and a co-founder of Model Practice.

Prior to founding Model Practice, Christopher most recently worked at Leong Leong where he led the design for Eaton SF, a 150 key boutique hotel in San Francisco’s Mid-Market Neighborhood and a contemporary women’s club in Manhattan. Recent completed work includes TOPO, an immersive installation soundbath landscape made in a collaboration with Arup for Sight Unseen and Ford Motor Company. Previously, Christopher was a Senior Associate at SHoP Architects and has past experience working for Michael Maltzan, Leong Leong, Arnell Group, Shubin Donaldson, Allied, and Pickard Chilton. With SHoP Architects, he was a lead designer for the Barclays Center at AtlanticYards in Brooklyn. In 2013, his Oyster House submission was awarded First Prize for the Add-On ‘13 Competition for re-imagining an affordable accessory dwelling in Wellfleet, Cape Cod.

Christopher’s interests inform his work at Model Practice. He has strong interest in fabrication processes and material innovation which informs the way he approaches solutions oriented designs. Chris enjoys balancing aesthetics and form with elegant and often simple technical solutions.

MINYOUNG SONG / PARTNER

Minyoung received her BA in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley (2001) and Master of Architecture from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University (2007). She is a registered architect in the State of New York and New Jersey, LEED accredited professional, certified passive house designer and a co-founder of Model Practice.

Previously Minyoung led the design of several projects at SHoP Architects in New York including Wharf Parcel 6 & 7, a 550,000 sf commercial office development in Washington DC, 55 Pitt Street, a 54 story commercial tower in Sydney, Australia and the Well at Oxon Run, a 50,000 sf community farm for a food justice non-profit located in Ward 8 of Washington DC.  Previously she was a project architect with NYC studios including Philip Parker Architect, REX, SOM and Fete Nature where she designed Tighthouse, a first certified passive house project in New York City.
